This morning Governor Nyesom Wike rescued former interim Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Joi Nunieh from police officers who took over her home.
Ms Nunieh was scheduled to appear today, Thursday, July 16th before the House of Representatives Committee investigating the alleged multiple financial misappropriation and embezzlement in the commission.
Unfortunately, as early as 4am, the policemen invaded her home and prevented her from leaving. When they later attempted to arrest her, she refused to go with them since they had no warrant of arrest.
Nuniel later told Newsmen that the officers said they were sent by the commissioner of police, which turned out to be a lie.
Below is a video of the moment, Governor Wike arrived Nunieh’s home and walked the policemen out of the her compound.
The former NDDC MD later followed the governor to the government house, away from further harassment.
