Embattled RnB superstar, R.Kelly was arraigned before a Cook County judge on Tuesday September 17, in handcuffs and prison outfit.
A major highlight of the court session was the Judge’s refusal to increase the $1 million bond on his pending sex abuse cases.
Though prosecutors at the Leighton Criminal Court Building did not reveal how much they wanted to increase Kelly’s bond, it was also learnt that the presiding Judge also shot down an unusual bid by a woman who posted Kelly’s bond in February but now wants her $100,000 back.
For decades, Kelly has been the subject of sexual abuse allegations – some involving minors. The R&B singer was acquitted in 2008 of child pornography charges stemming from a videotape that allegedly showed Kelly engaging in sex acts with a 13-year-old girl.

Kelly was also charged in February with 10 state counts of sexual abuse involving four victims, including three minors. He pleaded not guilty and was released from Chicago’s Cook County Jail after posting bail. More charges were filed against him in May.

He was arrested in July in Chicago on federal sex crime charges and has since been in custody till date. Below is a video from his court session.
