The wife of the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, Abba Kyari, on Monday, fainted at the Federal High Court in Abuja after hearing.
No official medical reason has been given why she slumped. However, an eyewitness said she fell on the ground shortly after trial Justice Emeka Nwite deferred ruling for March 28 on applications filed DCP Kyari and six other persons facing drug trafficking charge, to be released on bail pending the determination of the case against them.
She fell on the floor while armed operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, were leading Kyari and the others away from the court premises.
Meanwhile the court has scheduled ruling on the case for March 28.
Justice Nwite adjourned for ruling after taking arguments from lawyers to parties in the case.
Kyari was last week, arraigned with Sunday J. Ubua, an Assistant Commissioner of Police; Bawa James, an Assistant Superintendent of Police; Simon Agirgba, an inspector; John Nuhu, also an inspector and two civilians – Chibuna Umeibe and Emeka Ezenwanne on an eight-count charge
While Kyari and the other policemen pleaded not guilty, the two civilians pleaded guilty.
