The Coronavirus test result of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is out and he tested negative for the dreaded virus.
Osinbajo had gone on self-isolation after Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari who came in contact with several top members of the government tested positive for the virus.
The vice president’s result were confirmed in a tweet by Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters.
“Vice President Yemi Osinbajo tested negative,” he tweeted on Wednesday morning.
Yesterday, Mr Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to the Vice President had disclosed that Osinbajo has begun social distancing and self-isolation.
“VP Osinbajo yesterday at the office conducted his meetings via video conferencing while observing social distancing.
“Today, he continues his work from the home office, as he is in self-isolation in accordance with NCDC protocols,” he tweeted Tuesday evening.
As at Wednesday morning, the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria rose to 46 following the announcement that two new cases were confirmed in Osun and Lagos respectively.
