TV personality, Oseni Rufai has called for more transparency in future elections in Nigeria.
Rufai was reacting to the recent embarrassing goofs from Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said that what is more important is the goofs but the need for the country to have a credible election. He called for future elections to include requirements like submission of medical report and tax returns.
In his words, “What is most important for me, is that we need to have a process that is more transparent. That is why I will say, going forward in our electoral process, presidential candidates must be able to submit to us medical report. They must be able to submit to us their tax returns.
“Because, you see, if you want to get into a university in Nigeria, you will do medicals. And your medicals go to the university authorities. If you want to get a job, you do medicals.
“Why is it that job the top job, you cannot not show us medical reports? And you cannot show us tax returns and they cannot be honest with us and open with us regarding everything.”
