A military officer identified as Sergeant Bulama Aji was killed along the Enugu-Makurdi highway at about 11.30pm on Friday, August 7.
According to a report from SaharaReporters, the deceased officer was serving at 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, Jos, Plateau State, when he was killed while traveling back to Jos.
The gunmen reportedly opened fire on Aji, who was dressed in mufti, after he identified himself as a soldier when the bus was stopped by the gunmen. He died on the spot.
