Chinese club, Shanghai Shenhua, seem very determined to see Odion Ighalo return to China as they offer him an irresistible £400,000 (N170 million) weekly wage in a new contract.
Ighalo, who is currently on a six-month loan to Manchester United, is at present on £300,000 weekly wage at the parent club.
He took a 40 per cent wage cut to play for the English Premier league club and now craves to have a permanent switch back to England.
The Chinese club may have scuppered Manchester United’s permanent transfer plans by offering Ighalo the staggering pay rise.
The 30-year-old Nigerian has been an instant hit at Old Trafford since his January loan move. He has scored four goals in his first three starts.
United Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hinted he hoped to make Ighalo’s loan move a permanent one if he continued his fine form until the end of the campaign.
