It was a quick and scary moment as a man had to be rushed and restrained after he charged towards President Muhammadu Buhari during the Argungu Festival in Kebbi State.
President Buhari was posing for photos with other dignitaries on Thursday, March 12, when a man lunged at the President.
Furturnately, before he could reach Buhari, security aides rushed him and pushed him away from the President.

When contacted on the telephone last night, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, confirmed the incident, saying the man was an overzealous supporter of the president who did not know that he had crossed the line of security.
“He is an overzealous supporter who wanted to reach the president clearly out of goodwill. He didn’t know the limit and the security implication. He didn’t know that he was crossing the line of security.” Shehu said.
In contrast, however, other sources alleged that the man was an aggrieved Nigerian who wanted to attack the president.
