An Evangelist has caused a stir after he was seen asking passersby at a market in Enugu to repent to avoid contracting the deadly novel CoronaVirus.
The Evangelist, who was preaching in his native Igbo Dialect, can be heard calling whoever that cared to listen to repent and give their life to Jesus Christ; adding that when they do that, they’ll be immune to the virus.
The deadly virus was introduced into Nigeria by an Italian man who has since been quarantined and is reportedly recovering after being subjected to intensive care in Lagos.
Today, the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared Coronavirus outbreak a global pandemic, as the disease spreads across countries and continents – with more than 118,000 cases in 114 countries and 4,291 deaths.
“We have called every day for countries to take urgent and aggressive action. We have rung the alarm bell loud and clear,” WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Wednesday.
United States President Donald Trump has sought to calm fears of the virus and said he would use all government resources necessary to combat it.
“I am fully prepared to use the full power of the federal government to deal with our current challenge of the coronavirus!” Trump said.
