It is no longer news that the Party leadership of the All Progressives Congress has endorsed Senator Lawan for the Senate President position of the 9th National Assembly.
Thereafter, a clamour began that the Speakership position of the House of Representatives be zoned to the South East zone. Hon Chike Okafor from Imo State even went ahead to write to the National Chairman, Comr Adams Oshiomole to express his intention to run for the position.
However, shortly after Hon Okafor expressed his intention, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila was endorsed by the Party for the Speakership position.
It seems all is now well and the South East Members are now in Support as Hon Ugonna Ozuruigbo, a House of Representatives member-elect, also from Imo state declares support for Hon Gbajabiamila and even say he is his coordinator for South East.
Read what Ozuruigbo wrote on Twitter:
As the Southeast Coordinator of the @femigbaja Speakership Campaign, I want to categorically state that the Southeast Caucus are unflinchingly in support of the party and Mr President, who have urged us all to fall behind the candidacy of this fine legislator.
My support for Hon. Gbajabiamila is not built on personal interest but due to the collective will of the mass of members of the @HouseNGR who see him as the right candidate to steer the House appropriately.
