Portuguese and Juventus superstar player, Cristiano Ronaldo has sent a message of support to everyone suffering from Coronavirus including his teammate, Daniele Rugani who tested positive as well as all the medical professionals who are putting their lives at risk to save others.
Ronaldo has been in self-isolation in Portugal since last week and tested negative to the virus but not everyone even in the sporting circle has been so lucky.
Some football stars like Chelsea’s Hudson Odoi and Arsenal coach, Mikel Arteta have also been infected.
Ronaldo who is in Madeira, Portugal with the rest of his family says everyone should follow the instructions of the World Health Organization in dealing with the virus.
Ronaldo also shared that he is partnering with Juventus to support the fund raiser for hospitals in cities in Italy as the country continue to battle the disease.
He wrote: “The world is going through a very difficult moment which demands the utmost care and attention from all of us,” Ronaldo said via a statement postedon his Twitter account.
“I speak to you today not as a football player, but as a son, father, a human being concerned with the latest developments that is affecting the whole world.
“It is important we all follow the advice of WHO (World Health Organization) and the governing bodies on how we handle this current situation. Protecting human life must come above any other interests.
“I would like to send my thoughts to everyone who has lost someone close to them, my solidarity to those who are fighting the virus, like my team-mate Daniele Rugani, and my continued support to the amazing health professionals putting their own lives at risk to save others.”
