The Nigerian Police Force has identified and made arrest on a police officer caught in a disturbing viral video assaulting a man by the roadside of Emouha Junction by East-West Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, with his two colleagues.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, condemned the action of the officer while reacting to the video.
In an update shared on his handle on Monday evening, 10th April, Adejobi said the officers involved in the act have been arrested and they will be transferred to the force headquarters the following day.
The PPRO wrote on Twitter: “These men have been arrested, and their commander will personally bring to the Force Headquarters tomorrow Tuesday(today) for further actions. They are 3 in number, attached to RRS, Rivers State. Their action does not portray the police in a good light at all.
“It is still to buttress my point that whatever a policeman does is personal, not systemic. I wonder how a man, a reasonable man, would be flogging or slapping a grown-up man in that manner. So barbaric and unpolice.”
