The Nigerian Police Force has begun the search for officers in Rivers state who insisted on taking N20,000 cash bribe before a dying woman would be taken to the hospital.
Recall that man known on Twitter as @peterugavah shared how his hypertensive mother died in the car because police officers enforcing lockdown in Rivers state refused to let them pass except they are given N20,000 cash bribe. Read more here.
Reacting to the incident, the police, via its official Twitter handle begged members of the public to assist them with information so that justice could be served.
“Members of the public who might have information about the incident as alleged by @peterugavah are also implored to make same available to the police. We are ready to work with members of the public to ensure that justice is done,” the police wrote.
