Suspected herdsmen attacked a Benue Links bus en route to Otukpo, killing one passenger and injuring others in Tyolaha village, Gwer West LGA, Benue State.
The heavily armed attackers targeted a Benue Links bus on Thursday, October 12, killing one of the passengers.
A spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command, SP Catherine Anene, confirmed the incident on Friday, reporting that three people, including women, were injured and one died.
The representative for Gwer West State Assembly, Hon. Gyila Solomon Terlumun, stated that three people were killed in the attack and several others remain missing.
“Gwer West State Assembly Member, Hon. Gyila Solomon Terlumun, condemns the massacring of a Benue Links bus conveying passengers to Otukpo en-route Naka road Gwer West LG at Tyolaha village by suspected heavily armed Fulani herdsmen killing three persons and many still missing,” the statement reads.
Hon. Gyila Solomon Terlumun expressed his condolences to the victim’s families and shared in their grief over the attack, which occurred in the constituency he represents at the Benue State Assembly.
