Recently, the media was awash with allegations from Officials of the Imo state government that former governor Rochas Okorocha, his wife and allies made away with about 67 government vehicles.
In addition, the former governor was also accused of carting away with transformers and government property amounting to 50 billion Naira.
Rochas Okorocha has responded to the the allegations on Thursday via a statement signed by his special adviser on media, Sam Onwuemeodo. In the statement, Okorocha gave Governor Ihedioha and his aides seven days to publish his claims or bend his head in shame.
In the statement, Okorocha challenged “Governor Emeka Ihedioha and his appointees to publish the list and particulars of these 67 vehicles and the details of the N50 billion the former governor and the wife made away with vis-à-vis other items thereto. And we give them 7 days to do the Publication or bend their heads downward in shame.
“We also Challenge them to publish the properties the former appointees must have left with, either as a group or as individuals. The burden to publish evidence of all these claims is now on Governor Ihedioha and his appointees.”
In addition, the former governor, accused the incumbent governor of embarking “on systematic looting and diverting the attention of Imo people with their repeated claims over non-existent issues.”
