Popular businessman cum politician, Ned Nwoko has finally shared his own side of the story on the events that led to arrest of one Okey Ifejokwu, President general of Idumuje-Ugboko Development Union.

Mr Nwoko, the husband of actress Regina Daniels, made headlines recently after one Pamela Ifejokwu took to Twitter to accuse him of using corrupt means and powerful people in government to illegally detain her father, Okey Ifejokwu over alleged hectares of land Nwoko was planning to acquire forcefully from the community.

While reacting to the accusations raised by Pamela and the social media backlash that followed, Nwoko said Mr Ifejokwu was arrested for his involvement in murder and for sponsoring intra-communal clashes in their community, Idumuje-Ugboko in Aniocha North Local government area in Delta state.

Ned Nwoko also said that the narrative being circulated on social media was written by Azuka Jebose, a paid propagandist living the United States who provided a false account of the tragic events that happened in 2017.

Nwoko alleged that Ifejokwu hired dangerous thugs and imported Militia groups to invade the Community to silence general opposition against Prince Nonso’s illegitimate ascension to the throne. He also said that the hired thugs attacked leaders and groups in the kingdom, including the vigilante group led by Mr. Peter Bama who was beaten and dragged round the town. He said the thugs forced him to lead them to the homes of other vigilante members where the double barrel guns and bullets provided the vigilante members by the community for anti-crime purpose were stolen.

He said, “Ironically Ifejokwu is talking about justice when he had trampled upon the law with his alleged involvement in the Idumuje-Ugboko mayhem”.

He further said that the police later arrested Ifejokwu and the violent gang, who are now facing trial at various courts. He stressed that it was more of the case of an oppressor playing the victim.
