The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has pleased with Nigerians not to stigmatize against those visited during contact tracing of confirmed COVID-19 patients.
As part of the battle against the spread of coronavirus in the country, whenever a tested sample is confirmed, contact tracing commences immediately. And part of the tracing requires NCDC officials to visit the persons who have been in contact with the confirmed case.
So, the agency is begging Nigerians not discriminate against persons visited. In an awareness campaign shared on their official Twitter handle on Sunday, the NCDC wrote:
“If government officials come to your area to identify contacts of confirmed #COVID19 cases, please don’t discriminate against those visited.
It is important to quickly test & treat patients to avoid further spread of the disease.
Let’s offer our support & #SayNoToStigma”
