Meghan Markle plans to become more ‘politically engaged’ now that she and her husband Prince Harry have quit official duties as Royals of the British kingdom according to a new report.
Meghan together with her husband stunned the Kingdom when they announced early this month they will be quitting their positions as Royals to become more financially independent while living in Canada.
The announcement took the Queen of England by surprise and in a statement released by Buckingham Palace, the Queen wished the couple well and announced they will be stripped off their HRH titles while they will have to pay back taxpayer money spent on their UK home.
Meghan, in line with becoming ‘financially free’ is now considering taking a Disney Role and in a new report now wants to be more politically active.
‘The Duchess is said to be frustrated that she was forced to stay out of politics after getting engaged to Harry,’ a royal source told the DailyMail’s Richard Eden on Saturday.
‘She has strong political opinions and will now take advantage of the greater freedom she has to express them publicly.’
The Duke and Duchess have formed a close bond with Barack and Michelle Obama, while their communications secretary, Sara Latham, previously worked for Trump’s sworn rival Hillary Clinton and the Royal source speaking to the Daily Mail’s Richard Eden believes that Meghan may even make some sort of intervention in the U.S. presidential election later this year as she once called Donald Trump ‘divisive’ and ‘misogynistic’.
After becoming a Royal, Meghan, an American citizen, retained her American citizenship, and in 2018 reportedly told a close associate that her ultimate ambition was to be president of the U.S.
In 2015, the actress reportedly told journalist/ TV Host Piers Morgan that she had not always wanted to be an entertainer.
‘As a kid, I wanted to be either the president or a news broadcaster like you,’ she told him.
