The Ogun State Government has revealed the identity of the young Nigerian doctor who suspected and reported the Italian man who became the index case of coronavirus in the country.
In its appreciation tweets, the Ogun State Government identified the young woman as Dr Amarachukwu Karen Allison.
According to the Ogun State Government, the singular brilliance of the young doctor who works with Lafarge Cement Company led to the early diagnosis and rapid containment of the first Covid-19 infection in Nigeria, thereby saving a lot of persons that could have been infected.

Many Nigerians, including Atiku Abubakar, Tonye Cole and Kate Henshaw took to Twitter to praise her for a job well done and to pray for the entire medical team on the front line of the fight against Coronavirus.
