All is set for Emume Mbieri 2022 as Mbieri Nwaotuoke Union led by Deacon Chuma Okwodu and entire people of the ancient kingdom in Mbaitoli LGA, Imo State prepare for their festival of Culture and Tradition to take place on December 30, 2022 at the Orie Mbieri central square.
In a press conference organized in Orie Mbieri on Thursday, December 22, to brief members of the public about the forthcoming event, Amb. Steve Nnadi, the Chairman, Media Publicity and Protocol Sub Committee of Emume Mbieri 2022, highlighted the importance of the occasion and need to set the record straight about the event.
According to the statement by Nnadi, the theme of this year’s event is, “Mezie Mbieri” and the aim is to “promote cohesion, brotherhood, relative peace in Mbieri, unity of purpose, development and advancement of Mbieri sociocultural agenda, while aggregating and pursuing the collective interest, welfare and well-being of Ndi oma Mbieri”.
Nnadi also called on the media and general public to ignore the few detractors who are going about spreading the rumour that Emume Mbieri 2022 has been canceled or postponed.

Gentlemen of the press, permit me to on behalf of the national executive council of Mbieri Nwaotuoke Union led by Deacon Chuma Okwodu and Emume Mbieri 2022 central planning committee most respectfully welcome you to this important media briefing aimed at informing you and the general public to attend and participate actively in the forthcoming Emume Mbieri 2022.
Not only that, Emume Mbieri 2022 is also targeted to among other things, promote cohesion, brotherhood, relative peace in Mbieri, unity of purpose, development and advancement of Mbieri sociocultural agenda, while aggregating and pursuing the collective interest, welfare and well-being of Ndi oma Mbieri in all ramifications as the giant of the sub-ethnic clan East of the Niger.
The theme of this year’s festival of culture and tradition is; “Mezie Mbieri” which is
heartwarming and instructive. Emume mbieri is biannual homecoming and cultural festival of great Mbieri Nation, our in-laws, and Nwanwas, friends and well-wishers are not left out of this auspicious assembly.
Emume Mbieri 2022 is a 2 day programme scheduled as follows:
Day 1: Friday 30th December, 2022: 10am-12:30pm Public lecture; a colloquium on
Mbieri history, exploring the vexed questions of Opara Mbieri, inter alia. 1:30pm – 5pm: Mbieri day festivities: which includes a bountiful feast of both the
ancient cultural heritage, the contemporary literally choral and even culinary excellence ofbMbieri Nation.
Day 2: January 1st, 2023: Oduezi Mbieri Nwaotuoke; a traditional soiree of Mbieri
leaders and elites, where ideas are cross fertilized regarding even weighty matters of Mbieri’s contemporary commonweal and sociopolitical hegemony in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere while promoting networking.
January 8th, 2023: Thanksgiving service at St. Peters Anglican Church, Umunjam Mbieri, at 9.am.
Finally, it is imperative to emphasize that Emume Mbieri 2022 will hold as planned and our Special Guest of Honour, the Executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma will attend in flesh and it will be chaired by Chief Dr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu (Ahaejiagamba ndigbo).
