Clinton Amadi, the Imo State House of Assembly candidate for Owerri municipal constituency seat, has been released from police custody.
The Labour Party (LP) member and former assemblyman at the state House of Assembly from 2007 to 2011 was arrested at the INEC state secretariat at Port Harcourt Road, Owerri on Monday, 3rd April. Thus, his release came days after being kept under police custody.
Based on reports, Clinton came under arrest by operatives of the Tiger Base of the police command when he went to collect the Certified True Copies of electoral materials.
The 27 lawmakers of the LP in the just-held house of Assembly elections in the state had confirmed, and they released a statement demanding the immediate release of Clinton.
