Law graduate allegedly stabs younger brother to death with knives in Awka

A graduate of Law who had just finished his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme, has allegedly stabbed his brother to death in Anambra State, Punch reports.

The Police Public Relations officer in the State confirmed that the 28-year-old Victor Ohale allegedly stabbed his younger brother, Kelechi, in the head with knives.

The cause of the feud between the siblings had not been ascertained as of press time.

While briefing newsmen about the incident, PPRO, Haruna Mohammed stated:

“Around 4am, police detectives attached to the ‘B’ Division, Awka, arrested one Victor Ohale, 28, of No. 8 Oraeri Street, GRA, Agu Awka. The suspect allegedly used knives to stab his kid brother in his head, one Kelechi Ohale, 19, of the same address, but both hail from Emekuku in the Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State.

“The scene was visited by police detectives and the victim was rushed to the Amaku Teaching Hospital, Awka, where he was certified dead on arrival by the medical doctor and the corpse deposited in the hospital’s morgue for autopsy.

“The suspect, who is a law graduate from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, recently returned from the NYSC programme in Owerri, Imo State.”

The PPRO added that the incident was under investigation after which the suspect would be charged to court.
