A certain 33-year-old, Ifeoma Ossai, has been arrested for killing her 50-year-old landlord, Monday Surulere Oladele, over a minor disagreement on the electricity bill.
The single lady, Ossai, reportedly turned aggressive during the argument and grabbed the landlord by his genitals, pulling his manhood until he fell to the ground, unconscious.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Abimbola Oyeyemi, spokesperson for the Ogun State Police, confirmed the incident to pressmen, stating that the landlord was immediately rushed to the State General Hospital Ota, where he was confirmed dead by a doctor on duty.
Oyeyemi said the suspect was later arrested after one Olaleye Taiwo reported the incident to Sango Ota divisional police headquarters.
The police spokesman added that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Sango Ota division, CSP Saleh Dahiru, dispatched detectives to the scene who took her into custody for investigation.
Oyeyemi stated: “On interrogation, the suspect claimed that the deceased asked her to pay for the electricity bill but she insisted that until water is directly connected to her apartment as promised by the landlord before she packed in she will not pay the electricity or any other utility bill.
“This led to a scuffle between them consequent upon which the suspect grabbed the manhood of the deceased and dragged him with it.
“The deceased subsequently slumped, and he was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead by a doctor on duty.
The corpse has been deposited at the hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.”
