Just in: Two shot, INEC official Abducted in Lokoja

Two persons have been reportedly shot at Egume Police Station Polling Unit, Dekina LGA.

It was also gathered that violence has broken out in at least four polling centres in Lokoja, the state capital.

While we wait to get more details of the shooting incident in at Egume Police station unit, information also reaching us from the Kogi Election Situation room has it that an unidentified official of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was abducted at the SUBEB polling unit in Lokoja.

Unfortunately, similar situation is taking place in Bayelsa state where officials of the electoral umpire have also been reportedly kidnapped or gone missing.

The abduction in Lokoja reportedly occurred after gunmen shot sporadically into the air while voting was going on.

It was gathered that voters scampered for safety before the gunmen went away with the official.

Meanwhile, voting has ended at Bishop Crowther LGEA Primary School Lokoja. We await to get the official result.
