Just in: Shina Peller released on bail from Police Custody

The lawmaker representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola Federal Constituency in Oyo state, Shina Peller has been released by the Nigerian Police on bail.

Shina Peller was released on bail after his case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba.

It will be recalled that Hon. Peller was arrested and detained by the Police in connection with the operations of Quilox – a popular night club in Lagos owned by him.

Mr Peller was arrested on Monday by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command and detained at Moroko Police station, Lagos State.

He was said to have gone to Moroko police station to bail some of Club’s customers who had allegedly parked on the road during a show at the Club.

Explaining the arrest and detention of Peller, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, said Quilox’s customers are fond of obstructing the free flow of traffic.

He explained that the lawmaker had been warned many times, but he refused to do anything about it.

He said after some of his customers’ vehicles caused gridlock on Monday, the police intervened by towing three of the vehicles.

Bala claimed that Peller mobilised thugs, invaded the station to forcefully removed the vehicles.
