The Lagos state government has announced the discharge of twenty-six more COVID-19 patients from the Infectious Disease Centre Yaba and the Onikan Isolation Centre after they won their battle against the dreaded virus.
They include 14 males and 12 females, including 2 foreign nationals – a Polish and a Filipino.
They were discharged after fully recovering and testing negative to COVID-19 in two consecutive readings.
Sanwo-Olu made the announcement via his official Twitter handle.
With newly discharged patients, the total number of recovered cases is now 225.
The governor wrote: “Dear Lagosians, we are expanding our isolation capacity with more locations and medical equipment. Today, we discharged 26 more #COVID19 patients; 14 males and 12 females bringing our successfully managed and discharged number to 225.
“Our Gbagada isolation and biosecurity centre was launched today and will be instrumental as we work to slow the spread of #COVID19 in Lagos state. Improved testing and contact tracing are leading to more cases which makes it even more important to follow all medical guidelines.”
