Ihedioha’s Interim chairmen may be stranded as elected Councilmen refuse to back down

The newly appointed members of the Local government Interim management Committee by the governor of Imo state, Emeka Ihedioha may be stranded.

This is because the duly elected chairmen, Vice chairmen and councilors of the 27 local government of the state have refused to back down and allow their illegal suspension to stand.

Recall that the Chief Press secretary to Governor Ihedioha had on Monday, announced the suspension of the elected councilmen which prompted them to drag the governor to court.

The chairmen, vice chairmen and councilors have ever since continue to report to duty and carry on with their respective functions. This was confirmed to My Radio FM in the telephone conversation put forward to the Vice Chairman of Mbaitoli LGA as captured below.

“I’m not aware of any form of suspension… I only saw a social media press release credited to one Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Imo State. If there’s any issue such as suspension, we should be communicated in writing” – Hon. Samuel Chukubuikem Vice Chair, Mbaitoli LGA

On the part of the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Chibuike Onyeukwu said: “They were duly, duly communicated — that I can tell you for free”
