Governorship candidate of the Action Alliance in Imo State, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu has revealed that he would not have continued with his ambition to govern Imo State, if he wasn’t sure of the support of the masses.
“Some politicians may rely on the power of money, Abuja connection or electoral manipulations to win this election, but I depend wholly on the power of the ordinary people to win. The people have shown me so much solidarity and I reaffirm my covenant never to let the people down. I shall not forget that the ordinary people are the ladder that propelled me to the governorship of the State and I shall work to increase the smiles of our people.”
He stated this when the leadership of the Motorcyclists’ Association of Imo State paid him a solidarity visit on him at the Ugwumba Uche Nwosu Campaign headquarters, Owerri. Explaining the reason for their visit, the State Chairman of the association, Comrade Peter Udogu said that Ugwumba Uche Nwosu has shown himself forth as a leader with the strongest connection to the ordinary people, hence, their decision to ride with him.
Earlier, the leadership structure of the Action Alliance in the State, consisting of the Party’s BOT members from Imo State, State Chairman of the Party, members of the State Working Committee and LGA Chairmen of the Party from the 27 LGAs of the State held a meeting with their governorship candidate at the Ugwumba Campaign Office annex at New Owerri.
The Party chieftains reaffirmed their determination to ensure that the AA wins the governorship seat and every other elective position they have filed candidates in for in the coming election. They expressed confidence that Ugwumba Uche Nwosu is a good product that they are happy to identify with, as with him as the Party’s candidate the job of winning the next election has become a lot easier for the Party.
