A former Presidential Candidate, Kingsley Moghalu; the former Senate President, Bukola Saraki and former vice president, Atiku Abubakar have all reacted to the appointment of Professor Ibrahim Gambari as President Muhammadu Buhari’s new Chief of Staff.
President Buhari on Wednesday during Federal Executive Council meeting announced the appointment of Gambari as late Abba Kyari’s replacement.
Taking to Twitter, Saraki congratulated Gambari and described him as a disciplined diplomat who will do well on the job.
His tweet reads: “I congratulate Prof. Ibrahim Agboola Gambari on his appointment as Chief of Staff to President @MBuhari. Professor Gambari is a decent man, a cerebral academic, disciplined diplomat, and he is coming in with the necessary pedigree that will help him to do well on the job.”
The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, on his part expressed optimism that he will deploy his skills to serve Nigeria.
He wrote: “Congratulations Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, CFR on your appointment as Chief of Staff to @MBuhari.”
“It is my hope and expectation and those of millions of Nigerians that you will deploy your varied skills garnered over the years in the service of our nation.”
While Kingsley Moghalu, the Presidential candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) in the 2019 presidential election wrote:
“I congratulate Prof. (Amb.) Ibrahim Gambari on his appointment as new CoS to President @MBuhari . With this appointment Mr. President has made an excellent decision that we can only hope, for Nigeria’s sake, will bring a marked improvement to the performance of his presidency.”
