President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday evening addressed Nigerians on the country’s approach in the fight against the dreaded coronavirus that is ravaging the world, and spreading speedily in Nigeria.
During the broadcast the president announced a suspension of movements for residents of Lagos, Abuja and Ogun effective from 11 pm on Monday 30 March.
He said that the shutdown which will last 14 days was taken because most of the 97 cases have links to the three centres.
The President also said, “For residents of satellite and commuter towns and communities around Lagos and Abuja whose livelihoods will surely be affected by some of these restrictive measures, we shall deploy relief materials to ease their pains in the coming weeks. Read the full speech here.
