Information reaching us from the media aides of the First Lady of Imo state, Lady Ebere Ihedioha has it that arrangements have now reached advanced stage for the 2019 Edition of Imo Women August Meeting.
The 2019 edition of the annual event which is scheduled to hold from August 16th to 1st of Sept has the theme “Empowering Imo Women in Rebuild Imo Project to Enhance Family and Societal Values”.
The statement from the office of Lady Ihedioha explained that “the forum would afford first Lady the opportunity to interact with women in the state, inform them of the numerous programmes she had planned to alleviate their plight.”
Recall that the Imo Women August Meeting is an annual event initiated by Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha, the immediate past First Lady and wife of Senator Rochas Okorocha during her time as Imo First Lady.
Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha who had invited the wife of the President, Aisha Buhari; Wife of the Vice President, Dolapo Osinbajo and other First Ladies across Nigeria in previous editions had used the programme to empower, enlighten and bond with Imo women.
Lady Ihedioha deserves to be commended for continuing with the annual event which many have seen to be a good initiative since its inception.
This year, Lady Ebere Ihedioha who will be hosting the event for the first time, hopes to use the event “intimate Imo Women with their role in the Re-Building Imo project of Governor Emeka Ihedioha, integrate them into the Imo Rebuilding Agenda as well as to galvanise their interest and strategically re-channel them to national pursuit that would culminate in development and recovery of the essence of womanhood.”
