The Imo State House of Assembly has summoned the Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Barr. Ugochi Nnanna-Okoro and Accountant-General of the State, Chief Casmir Ozuzu, to come today, Wednesday, April 24 and explain the debt of the State as well as clarify the financial statement of the State since 2015.
This is coming as the House resumed plenary Tuesday, April 23, 2019 with Engr. Chika Madumere, Member representing Nkwerre State Constituency, moving the motion to invite the State’s finance chiefs.
According to the motion, the need for the Commissioner and Accountant-General to appear before the House became necessary for them to explain the debt portfolio of Imo State. Also, the House invited them to answer some questions on the management of the financial resources of the State since 2015.
According to the report, the motion when put to vote saw virtually all the lawmakers present expressing their support.
The report stated further that the invitation became necessary since Governor Rochas Okoracha has insisted that his administration does not owe any bank, financial institutions or contractors anywhere.
