Nigeria’s former minister of Education and co-convener of Bring Back Our Girls Movement, Oby Ezekwesili has raised alarm that in the face of COVID-19 that is now a global health and economic threat, Nigerian government is yet to present an economic plan to cushion the effect of possible recession.
In a series of Tweets, Ezekwesili pleaded with the members of the Nigerian Senate and House of Representatives that instead of suspending plenary for two weeks, they should be less selfish and demand an economic blueprint from the Executive in other save the citizens from the suffering that is likely moving towards the nation.
Her comments came as a reaction to the recent crash in oil prices which many have viewed at a threat to implementation of the 2020 budget.
