The Cherubim And Seraphim Church has passed a strong warning to Federal Government against arresting the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, for treason.
The message of caution was sent made by the Supreme Head of the church, Prophet Solomon Alao. He warned that arresting Obi and Datti would cause great tension in the country.
He said this during his Easter message on Sunday, 9th April. In the message, Alao advised the Federal Government rather seek legal justice than make threats at the opposition.
Alao said, “The Federal Government must tread softly in dealing with Obi and Datti and stop the threat of arresting and prosecuting them for treason.
“We have not seen enough persuasion and conviction from the government and the ruling party to convince the opposition parties and their candidates that they will not interfere in the judicial process, and this is the time to do that.”
The cleric also cautioned Obi’s supporters against creating enemies for Obi by their speech.
