As the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa is honored to share our party’s vision for building a strong and vibrant democracy in Nigeria. Our country
has made significant progress since transitioning to democracy in 1999, but we still face numerous challenges that hinder our democratic growth. This is a call for a transformational system, however, this is a huge task since there is a need for everyone’s commitments, especially the political class, the leaders, and the citizenry’s APGA believes that a strong democracy is built on the principles of transparency, accountability, and inclusivity.

We advocate for:

  1. Electoral reforms to ensure free, fair, and credible elections.
  2. Strengthening of democratic institutions, such as the judiciary and legislature.
  3. Promotion of transparency and accountability in government.
  4. Empowerment of citizens through education and civic engagement.
  5. Protection of human rights and the rule of law.

To achieve these goals, APGA proposes:

  1. Implementing electronic voting and simultaneous elections.
  2. Establishing a truly independent electoral commission devoid of any influence by any part and the incumbent
  3. Strengthening anti-corruption agencies and promoting whistleblower protection agency
  4. Encouraging civic education and voter registration.
  5. Promoting diversity and inclusion in governance.

e. National unity and cohesion are fostered
