The Code of Conduct Tribunal has convicted Nigeria’s suspended Chief Judge, Walter Onnoghen for not declaring his assets when he was appointed which is a breach of Code of Conduct for Public Officers .
Delivering the judgment, the tribunal chairman, Danladi Umar, ordered the immediate removal of Onnoghen from office as the CJN, Chairman of the National Judicial Council and the Chairman of the Federal Judicial Service Commission.
The tribunal also ordered the forfeiture of the five bank accounts which Onnoghen allegedly failed to declare to the Federal Government and will lose funds in five bank accounts.
He was also stripped of all benefits attached to former offices he held and barred from him holding public office in the next ten years.
