Former Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo, has scored his first goal for his new club, Manchester United as they thrashed Club Brugge 5-0 on Thursday at the Old Trafford.
He scored in the Reds second leg tie against Club Brugge in their Europa League campaign.
A huge cheer erupted at Old Trafford when Ighalo scored in the 34th minute through an assist from Juan Mata.
That’s not all, the Ighalo dedicated the dream goal to his late sister, Mary Atole who died in December, 2019.
Fernandes was the one who pulled the strings after picking out a sumptuous pass to Mata on the right side of the penalty area.
The diminutive Spaniard squares it across goal first-time, and the Nigerian applied the simple finish.
Ighalo’s goal put Manchester United in a comfortable 2-0 lead ahead of their opponents.
The striker, signed on loan until the end of the season from Shanghai Shenhua in January, replaced Anthony Martial, who scored United’s goal in the 1-1 first-leg draw of the last-32 tie.
