The Governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has sacked the state commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Mu’azu Magaji with immediate effect.
Following the news about Abba Kyari’s death, the commissioner took to his Facebook handle to celebrate. President Buhari’s media aide, Bashir Ahmad even had to express his displeasure on Twitter over Muazu Magaji’s remarks.
Not long after that, the Kano state Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, released a statement saying that the commissioner for works was removed following his unguarded utterances against the person of the late Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari.
He said as a public servant, the commissioner ought to have respected the office by refraining from any act capable of rendering it to disrepute.
“The action of a public servant, personal or otherwise reflects back on the government and therefore, the Ganduje administration would not tolerate people in official capacities engaging in personal vendetta or otherwise,” the statement read.
Bashir Ahmad also returned to Twitter to express satisfaction over the sack of the commissioner.
