In his words “Leaving No One Behind: Spreading Joy and Cheer to Elderly Priests, the National Chairman, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa Visits – Written by Nduka Anyanwu, SA- Media to The National Chairman APGA, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa
“Spreading Joy and Cheer: A Commitment to Leaving No One Behind” In a heartwarming display of kindness and compassion, the APGA National Chairman had the privilege of attending a special Christmas Mass at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish, Awka, where he spread joy and cheer to elderly priests of Awka and
Ekwulobia Diocese. This gesture was not only a reflection of his personal convictions as a true Christian but also a testament to the APGA’s mantra of leaving no one behind.
As he joined the congregation in celebrating the true spirit of Christmas, he was reminded of the importance of looking after the elderly and downtrodden. The APGA’s commitment to leaving no one behind is more than just a slogan – it’s a call to action that recognizes the inherent dignity and worth of every individual, regardless of their age, social status, or background. – he added.
The Bishop’s homily was a powerful reminder of the values of love, sacrifice, and kindness that Jesus Christ embodied, especially towards those who are vulnerable and may not be able to reciprocate our gestures. As he reflected on the Bishop’s words, the National Chairman was struck by the realization that leaving no one behind is not just a moral imperative, but also a necessary
condition for building a more just and equitable society.
As the APGA National Chairman, he emphasized that he is committed to ensuring that the APGA leadership/ administration prioritizes the welfare of the elderly and vulnerable. We recognize that economic growth and development must be inclusive and equitable, leaving no one behind. This commitment he opined is in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which emphasize the importance of leaving no one behind in achieving sustainable development.
As we celebrate the festive season, let us remember the values of love, kindness, and compassion that define us as humans. Let us strive to create a world where everyone has access to the same opportunities, regardless of their background or circumstances. May God continue to keep our elderly priests and all those who are vulnerable. Amen, re echoed the National Chairman.
