National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, RELIEVED as Federal High Court Delivers Verdict on APGA Leadership Dispute – Written by Nduka Anyanwu, Special Adviser on Media to the National
Chairman
The Federal High Court has handed down a significant ruling
in the ongoing leadership dispute within the All-Progressives
Grand Alliance (APGA). Hon. Justice James Omotosho
rejected Edozie Njoku’s attempt to disengage Mr. P.I.N Ikwueto SAN from representing APGA.
The court recognized Mr. Ikwueto and other lawyers as APGA’s duly authorized counsel, affirming Barr Sly Ezeokenwa’s valid election as National Chairman at the
party’s May 31, 2023, convention.
Paul Erokoro SAN, representing Njoku, claimed non-service
and requested time. However, the court warned Njoku to cease delaying tactics and face the plaintiffs’ case.
Key Takeaways:
- Edozie Njoku failed to provide INEC’s monitoring report of the APGA Convention.
- Court ordered all parties to file processes within 7 days.
- Defendants have 3 days to respond to applications.
- Matter adjourned to October 21, 2024.
Njoku’s departure from the court, visibly shaken and stammering, suggests the truth about the disputed Owerri Convention is unfolding.
