APGA National Chairman, Ezeokenwa lauds Tinubu for releasing Detained Minors, urges Nnamdi Kanu’s release

APGA National Chairman, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for releasing minors detained in connection with the #EndBadGovernance# protest. This move demonstrates the administration’s commitment to justice and protection of young Nigerians.

Ezeokenwa also urged President Tinubu to extend empathy to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who has been detained for a prolonged period. Kanu’s release
would contribute to national peace, address security crises in the South East, and foster trust and stability.

The National Chairman of the All – Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his compassionate decision to release minors detained in connection with the #EndBadGovernance protest. This move demonstrates the administration’s commitment to justice and protection of young Nigerians. About 32 malnourished minors were held for three months awaiting trial, and their release reflects the government’s dedication to safeguarding children’s rights and dignity.

Call for Nnamdi Kanu’s Release

Barrister Ezeokenwa also urged President Tinubu to extend empathy to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who has been
detained for a prolonged period. Kanu’s release would contribute to national peace, address security crises in the South East, and foster trust and stability. The APGA National Chairman emphasized that a swift decision on Kanu’s release is crucial for peace and national reconciliation.

This call is supported by various groups, including Concerned Federal Lawmakers for Peace and Security in the South-East, who appealed to President Tinubu to
invoke Section 174 of the Constitution and Section 107(1) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act for Kanu’s release.
