APGA National Chairman, Ezeokenwa joins Gov Soludo at Launch of Tree Planting Initiative in Anambra

In a groundbreaking move towards sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, joined forces with the Governor of Anambra State and National Leader of APGA, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo CFR, to launch the distribution of over one million cash crop seedlings across the state. This innovative initiative aimed to promote agricultural enhancement and sustainability, aligning with APGA’s manifesto and vision for a greener future.

The launch, which took place at Achebe Stadium, Fegge, Onitsha, on 20th July 2024, involved the allocation of various seedlings, including palm, ukwa, bitter kola, and pawpaw, to be distributed through the state’s 326 political wards using the Umunna system. The APGA National Chairman praised Governor Soludo for spearheading this transformative effort, describing it as a “green revolution” and a historic first for Anambra State.

Governor Soludo reiterated the state’s commitment to an ongoing program targeting the planting of 10 million seedlings in Anambra over the coming years, emphasizing the importance of integrating tree planting into the culture of Anambra to earn carbon credits.
