The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has unveiled its new executive leadership following the successful conclusion of national elections held at the Old Government Lodge, Abakiliki Road, Enugu. Senator John Azuta Mbata emerged as the newly elected President-General, succeeding Nze Ozichukwu and Chief Emeka Sibeudu, Secretary-General. The election which took place on January 10th, 2025, also saw the appointment of other individuals to key executive positions within the organization.
Subsequently, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, the National Chairman of the All-Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has congratulated them on their emergence as the President-General and Secretary-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, respectively.
Senator Azuta-Mbata, formerly representing Rivers East Senatorial District, and Chief Emeka Sibeudu, ex-Deputy Governor of Anambra State, have been entrusted with leading Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.
Barrister Ezeokenwa also acknowledged their victory as a testament to the trust placed in them by the Igbo community worldwide.
Ezeokenwa expressed optimism about the new leadership, hoping they’ll promote unity, progress, and development within the Igbo nation while preserving their cultural heritage. He urged them to prioritize the collective interests of Ndigbo worldwide and build collaborations with other ethnic groups, government institutions, and global communities.
