Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi has kicked off the second batch of science teachers training in Owerri Zone, aimed at equipping them with modern methods of teaching sciences in the 21st century.
The training program sponsored by National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) targets 50 secondary schools across the 9 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Owerri zone (Imo East).
The training program focuses on enhancing teachers’ delivery in science subjects like mathematics, chemistry, biology, physics, ICT, and data processing. By doing so, Senator Onyewuchi hopes to empower students to become innovative, lifelong learners who can compete globally.
Notably, this is the second batch of the program, following the successful training of 70 science teachers from 35 secondary schools across the 9 LGAs in April 2024. At the end of this training, participating teachers and schools will receive laptops, tablets, interactive boards, and other learning aids to practice their newfound skills to the benefit of their students.
Senator Onyewuchi has continued to demonstrate commitment to education, human capacity and community development.
