“Leadership” A Beacon of National Building – National Chairman – APGA, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa Emphasis on Empowering Nigerian Youth for Leadership and Nation-Building – By NDUKA ANYANWU – SA Media to the APGA National Chairman – 16th August 2024
Background
As the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), I am deeply concerned about the future of our great nation, Nigeria. With over 60% of our
population under the age of 30, it is imperative that we empower our youth to take on leadership roles and contribute to nation-building.
The youth are the backbone of any nation, and their energy, creativity, and innovation are essential for driving progress and development. However, many Nigerian youths lack the necessary skills, knowledge, and opportunities to reach their full potential.
At APGA, we believe that empowering the youth is critical to building a better future for Nigeria. That is why we are committed to implementing policies and programs that support youth development, education, and entrepreneurship.
Firstly, we must prioritize education, which is the foundation of youth empowerment. We need to invest in our educational system, improve access to quality education, and provide opportunities for skills acquisition and vocational training.
Secondly, we must create opportunities for youth entrepreneurship and job creation. This can be achieved through initiatives such as mentorship programs, business incubators, and access to funding and resources.
Thirdly, we must encourage youth participation in politics and governance. This can be achieved through initiatives such as youth leadership training, political
education, and creating opportunities for youth to hold public office.
Finally, we must address the social and economic challenges that confront our youth, such as poverty, unemployment, and inequality. This requires a comprehensive approach that involves government, civil society, and the private sector.
In conclusion, empowering Nigerian youth for leadership and nation-building requires a collective effort. We must work together to create opportunities, providesupport, and encourage our youth to take on leadership roles. At APGA, we are committed to this vision, and we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that our youth are equipped to build a better future for Nigeria.
