The Njoku Faction: A Threat to APGA’s Unity
Edozie Njoku’s leadership has been shrouded in controversy, with many questioning his legitimacy as APGA chairman. Despite the Supreme Court’s affirmation of his chairmanship, the Anambra State Government has sealed the state secretariat of Njoku’s APGA faction, sparking tensions.
Allegations of Exclusion
In a recent development, the Njoku-led faction alleged exclusion attempts in the Anambra LGA polls. They claim that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) have been notified of the Court of Appeal’s ruling, which validates the APGA National Convention that elected Victor Oye as National Chairman in 2019.
Ezeokenwa’s Concerns

Addressing newsmen in Abuja on
Thursday, Ezeokenwa said Njoku and his co-travelers are not members of the party anymore, since he defected from APGA in 2007.
He further revealed that the Njoku is out to destroy APGA, ahead of next year’s governorship election in Anambra State, where the incumbent governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo is contesting for a second term on the platform of the party as well the LGA Chairmen election schedules for 28th, September 2024.
Ezeokenwa who called out the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), said the electoral umpire is working with Njoku-led faction to destroy the party ahead of the elections in Anambra State. He said: ‘Following the judgment of the Court of Appeal on the 24th of June, 2024, it affirmed the judgment of the Bwari High Court. The Court didn’t recognize Edozie Njoku as
the chairman of APGA. APGA whose leadership was questioned was never joined in the suit. This is another phase and we will and the party will be better for it.
