President Muhammadu Buhari has asked the senate to confirm Abike Dabiri–Erewa for reappointment as chairwoman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) for a second term in office.
Buhari’s request was stated in a letter read by Senate President Ahmad Lawan on the floor of the upper legislative chamber on Tuesday, 2nd May.
She is the pioneer chairperson of the commission which is domiciled in the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Before becoming NiDCOM boss, Dabiri-Erewa was senior special assistant to the president on foreign affairs and diaspora. She is a former member of the green chamber of the national assembly representing Ikorodu constituency in Lagos.
In a separate letter, the president asked the upper legislative chamber to appoint six commissioners for the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
The nominees include Ayogu Eze, Enugu State; Peter Opara, Imo State; Hauwa Aliyu, Jigawa State; Tanko Ayuba Haruna, Kebbi State; Ismaila Mohammed Kwara State; and Kolawole Daniel Abimbola Oyo State.
