The APGA candidate for Ahiazu Mbaise State Constituency, Imo House of Assembly, Nduka V. A. Anyanwu has been freed after he was kidnapped by unknown armed men on Tuesday.

While speaking with Expressiveinfo on Wednesday morning, Anyanwu narrated how the ugly incident took place.
He said that some men in a Toyota Sienna double-crossed him in his LGA, Ahiazu Mbaise, while he was driving to APGA office in Owerri to finalize arrangement for his booth agents. Speaking further he said that they asked him to come out of his car immediately. When he asked them who they were, they became aggressive and refused to disclose their identity. It was during the altercation, he said, that two men came out from the Sienna, one with a knife, the other with a gun, and insisted he came out of his car and hand over his keys.
Anyanwu also said that at that point, he didn’t have any option other than to step out and follow them into their Sienna. Thereafter, they drove off towards the direction of Mbano, while one of them drove his car behind them.
He said that he was lucky that an Okada man (a commercial motorcyclist) recognized and called one of the kidnappers, the one sitting by the window, beside him. It was after then they became restless and started arguing about letting him go. Not long following their argument, he was let go.
