The Chairman of the Imo State Chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Hon John Iwuala had a closed door meeting with aspirants in state on Monday, May 9, ahead of the Congress to elect Delegates across the 305 wards in the 27 Local Government Areas of the State.
According to the party’s schedule, the congress will take place across the state on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.
Speaking in the meeting, the chairman emphasized that the Congress will be free, fair and credible.
Iwuala assured the aspirants that after the congress, the list of the elected delegates will be published for all to see so as to create a transparent and fair ground for all the aspirants.
Iwuala said, “The current APGA leadership in Imo State is focused on having a free, fair, transparent and credible congress so that there will not be rancor during or after our Primary election.
“After the congress, the names of the elected delegates will be made open to all. Aspirants will have the chance to interact with the delegates to freely converse for votes.
“No aspirant should have fear of being sidelined or cheated because it will never happen. What happened in the party prior to 2019 elections will never repeat itself.
“This current State Working Committee under my watch will be fair to everyone.”
The Chairman charged the aspirants to flood their campaign posters and banners across the state and double up effort in their consultations and familiarization with Imolites to boost their chances of winning in the forthcoming Primary and General elections.
Some of the aspirants at the meeting include: Ngozi Clara Opara for Mbaitoli State Constituency, Osuji Lugard for Owerri Municipal State Constituency, Umunnakwe Ekenedirichukwu Divine for Owerri West State Constituency, Madukaji Canice Onyekachi for Owerri North State Constituency, Ugo Echezonachukwu for Obowo State Constituency and Collins Ugorji for Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency.
