This is a bizzare story of a young man who killed his father, set the body on fire because he believes his father was wicked enough to kill his mother. The man, identified as Abuchi Onuorah, allegedly killed his 65-year-old father, Onyiauke Onuorah, in Nando, in the Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State.
A family member, who spoke to Southern City News on condition of anonymity, said Onyiauke was trailed to his room, where he was allegedly murdered by his son.
The 24-year-old was also said to have burnt the corpse of the deceased.
The deceased was alleged to have used diabolical powers to inflict disease on his wife for flouting his order not to attend the Omugwo (maternity treat) of their daughter, who was recently delivered of a baby.
The source further revealed that: “Onyiauke threatened his wife that if she went for their daughter’s Omugwo at Nteje, she would not come back alive. But the wife went against his order. During the visit, she was struck by a strange ailment and she died two days later.”
According to the anonymous source: “So, when she eventually died and the message got to her children, one of her sons, Abuchi, dashed to their father’s room, dismembered him with a cutlass and poured petrol on his remains and set them on fire.
It was gathered that Abuchi fled the community after killing the father.
The chairman of the community, Uja Egwu, confirmed the development, adding that the matter had been reported to the police in the area.
